Via Roma, 45
The building was based on a design by architect Francesco Sappia under the auspices of Engineer Giorgio Asproni. The school was set up in 1871 at the behest of Quintino Sella, who deemed it necessary to train the Miners’ and Workshop Foremen to be employed on Sardinian mines. The entrance to the mining art museum is situated in the main façade of the building and arose in 1998 with the aim of gathering and bequeathing to the youth the historical-mining memory of the city. The museum is divided into a central lobby and two corridors. In the central part, visitors can access only a few sections of the gallery that have been restructured and equipped with safety measures and branch out under and outside the building.
